Michelle Obama, former First Lady of the United States of America, wore a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown to the American Portrait Gala, which took place at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C. on Sunday, November 17th 2019.
American born Creative Director Daniel Roseberry comments: "The inspiration for the shape originally came from the crinoline, which is often found underneath couture gowns, but the real starting point for the overall look was the color. The acidic tone echoes Elsa Schiaparelli’s signature shocking pink, and we also felt that it matched the strength and energy of Mrs. Obama. It was such an honor to make this special gown for her."
Celine Dion appeared in Schiaparelli Haute Couture on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon in New York.
She was wearing a gathered-sleeve top in double organza paired with a nude pleated wool skirt.
At the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, actress Yara Shahidi appeared in Schiaparelli Haute Couture.
She was wearing the “State of Undress” skirt in floral-printed silk faille with inverse-printed details, paired with a crystal knit sportsbra.
