THE TIMELESS ANATOMY
In Elsa Schiaparelli’s own creations and in today’s spirit of Schiaparelli, the Maison explores parts of the human body. Eyes, ears, nose, lips, and hands were among Elsa’s obsessions and were particularly evident in the Surrealist avant-garde Parisian scene in general and in the collaborative artistic relationship of Schiaparelli and Salvador Dalí in particular.
Anatomical details are omnipresent in the collections, in the form of a facetious trompe l'oeil face on the emblematic Face bag, in sound charms accumulated on the handle of the Soufflé bag, or even in signature toes moulded on sneakers, mules, or boots.
