The Hasselt Fashion Museum in Belgium is hosting the unmissable 'Haute-à-Porter' fashion event until 11 September 2016.
With around a hundred pieces from leading fashion houses and renowned designers, this journey underlines the increasingly close links between haute couture and ready-to-wear over the past 30 years.
Among the presented pieces is the Scorpion cape designed by Christian Lacroix for his Elsa Schiaparelli tribute collection in July 2013. A coat embroidered with Elsa's initials also features from the Autumn/Winter 2014–15 Schiaparelli Haute Couture collection.
Designs from the biggest names in fashion give visitors an idea of haute couture’s influence over everyday fashion. In addition to their historical value, these pieces, clothes and accessories are also worth viewing for their beauty and the superb craftsmanship involved in their creation.
